MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Missoula Electric Cooperative is to provide reliable, economical electric service to our Members in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, consistent with sound cooperative business principles. The Cooperative will also endeavor to provide other reliable, cost effective products and services consistent with sound business principles.
STATEMENT OF IDEALS
We Believe:
- That the Missoula Electric Cooperative, Inc. has an important position in our society;
- That the opportunities in the enterprise carry with them great responsibilities, both economic and social;
- That these responsibilities require a high degree of competence in performance and a high order of good citizenship;
- That individual and corporate relationships must be governed by the highest standards of conduct and ethics; and
- That we should maintain a position of leadership in our rural community.
STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES
GENERAL:
1. Extend electric service to all unserved persons in our service area, where
feasible, at the lowest possible cost consistent with financial requirements of
the Cooperative;
2. Promote the proper use of electric energy;
3. Increase the standards of living by rendering the best possible service at the
lowest possible cost; and
4. Retain the consumer owned status of the Cooperative.
CONSUMERS AND MEMBERS:
1. Offer abundant services of the highest quality at the lowest possible cost
consistent with the financial requirements of the Cooperative; and
2. Foster the Cooperative's reputation for fair dealing, prompt service,
dependability, integrity, courtesy, productive ability and technical
competence.
EMPLOYEES:
1. Establish the view that our human assets are our greatest assets and that
these must be developed and improved as a matter of moral obligation and
material advantage;
2. Reward, encourage progress, fully inform, train, develop and properly assign
all employees in order that their lives and work be given meaning, dignity,
satisfaction and purpose, both on and off the job; and
3. Promote the ideas of the social obligation involved in having a job well done.
PUBLIC:
1. Foster the Cooperative's position as a good citizen in the communities where
it is located and encourage employees and officers to take active parts in
making the community and nation a better place in which to live;
2. Cooperate lawfully with similar enterprises and industry generally for mutual
betterment;
3. The management of the Missoula Electric Cooperative, Inc. will realize these
objectives through the periodic preparation of specific short and long term
programs carried out through an effective organization employing proven
management techniques, methods and procedures based upon the principle
of decentralized operations governed by uniform policies; and
4. By doing these things well and in proper balance, each with the other, the
Missoula Electric Cooperative, Inc. will serve the best interests of its
consumers, Members and employees and will make a continuing contribution
to the public welfare.
