RATE STRUCTURE
The Board of Trustees and the Management have established the rates of the Cooperative to be true cost-based rates with no cross subsidization between classes or types of services.
RATE STABILIZATION
The Board of Trustees and Management have taken a proactive approach to the issues of deregulation of the electric industry in Montana. We have negotiated a power contract with Bonneville Power Administration through September 2011 to purchase electric energy at 1997 prices!

NOTE: For Industrial Rates I and II - Annually in October, BPA determines the amount, if any, of additional committed loads purchase power charges to apply to MEC. When the sum total of the committed energy charges paid by MEC Members exceeds the sum total of the BPA committed load assessment, a credit may be issued to the Member(s) effected based upon their proportional use of committed energy compared to the other effected Member(s).
